FAQs about a Personal Line of Credit
What is the difference between a Personal Loan and a Personal Line of Credit?
A Personal Loan has a set number of payments called the loan term (for example, 48 months). After you have made all 48 payments your loan is paid off and closed.
A Personal Line of Credit (PLOC) has a minimum monthly payment, but no set term. You can advance your loan funds, pay it off, and repeat. It gives payment flexibility by allowing you to make the minimum payment or more, up to the full balance. The line stays open until you request it be closed.

If not currently a Members Choice member, a $5 deposit is needed to establish membership. All memberships are subject to approval including credit approval.
*APR = Annual Percentage Rate. Rates are subject to change without notice. Rates shown reflect available rate discounts. Each application is evaluated on an individual basis. Loan advances are granted based upon the applicant(s) credit history, ability to repay, purpose, stability and collateral. Loan advances are not granted based upon method of repayment. On variable rate loans, the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for new advances and existing balances is based on an index which is the highest Prime Rate as published in the Money Rates section of The Wall Street Journal on the 15th day of the month for the preceding three months and is subject to change monthly. The index figure is posted in the lobby of each credit union office.
1 A Personal Line of Credit must be linked to a Members Choice personal checking account.
2A Line of Credit Transfer Fee will be charged when funds are transferred by Members Choice, whether by a teller or automated transfer, to your linked checking account to cover an overdraft. A fee is not charged when you initiate a transfer yourself to your linked checking account. Refer to the Consumer Fee Schedule for fee amounts.
3 In certain situations, you may still incur a Choice Pay Overdraft Protection Fee or NSF Fee. For example, if your credit limit has been exhausted on your Line of Credit, a transaction may cause a Choice Pay Fee or NSF Fee to be charged. Additionally, if you have available credit on your Line of Credit but the available funds are not sufficient to cover the transaction, you may be charged both a Line of Credit Transfer Fee and a Choice Pay Fee in order to cover the transaction; if you do not have Choice Pay, the transaction will be returned and you would be charged a NSF Fee. Refer to the Consumer Fee Schedule for fee amounts.
